Lynn Valley

I suppose this should go into my other blog, under the Hike heading. But.. it wasn't really a hike, so too bad. I did have a chance to play with my camera though, so here's some shots from last Sunday.

I love that the kind of wonky exposure in this photo makes it look black and white.

 And with a better exposure.

 Huge, ancient stumps.

 Gorgeous coastal forest!!

Island getaway

Some photos from Miracle Beach, on Vancouver Island (south of Campbell River). My family has camped here 3 or so times, and I have fond memories of it!

An alive sanddollar. R didn't believe me..

Another sanddollar. I felt so bad walking on this beach.. they were everywhere!!

Mom and M standing wayy out from shore. It was so hot that it was almost not worth it to be standing in cool water in the sun rather than in the shade.

 Dead jellyfish and it's reflection.

Jelly and reflection.

It was nice to go back to a childhood place and find out that I still enjoyed being there! Hopefully someday I'l get over there and camp again.

Highway 99

A few weeks ago we went home for the weekend to do some grandparent-visiting. It was very nice to be home with no wedding-related things to do. We visited R's grandparents and stayed with my grandma which led to more visiting time.  I also managed to sneak in a visit with K, C and B.

Since our Sunday pllans were quite limited compared to normal, we decided to take Highway 99 from north of Cache Creek through Lillooet, Pemberton, Whistler and Squamish home. It was a really good choice. It was beautiful, and it's a bit of a slower highway. R loved it for the twists and turns (which I wasn't so in love with..).

Lake at Marble Canyon, near Cache Creek.

Better colour of the lake. It was gorgeous!

The patterns that bugs can make in leaves are incredible..

View up the Fraser Canyon from Lillooet.

Seton Lake - a Hydro reservoir near Lillooet.

Gorgeous mountains near Pemberton.

I wish there was more stops along the way (especially north of Pemberton). Nice drive, although not fast by any means.
