Blueberry Picking!

Sunny weather is back in the city (or.. we and the sun are in the city at the same time) so we took off to Westham Island on Saturday with a car full of girls (and one boy) and containers to fill with fresh, juicy berries.

 Boysenberries.. which I didn't like.

 Blueberries!!

 The girls picking berries.
 Can't resist instagram photos!!

After we came home with ~10 lbs of berries, we had to do something with them..
Sunday breakfast included this fruit salad (raspberries and blueberries picked by us)..

and blueberry pancakes with blueberry sauce.. :)

We're going to be eating these for a while. They don't freeze that well (or at least, we didn't have much luck with them last year) so I see lots of blueberries in my future!!

Snapshots of life..

Lots of things have happened lately, but I haven't always had my good camera with me. Thankfully.. that phone of mine has a decent camera, and some fun apps.

Here's a few snapshots of my life in the past month or so!

I love this cloud photo. It's the perfect background for my phone.

Panorama shot of a farm where I was working..

 We got married!

We went to Squamish, and found pretty flowers and fog.

We got a *lovely* tea set from some dear friends, and drank tea and ate cookies.

We went to Canada Day in Squamish, and saw this wicked old car.

I went back to work, and saw golden canola fields, surrounded by a (really flooded) river and beautiful trees.

While at work, we saw the spill of the WAC Bennett Dam. CRAZY!

We went for a hike with some friends, and some hottttt dogs.

We ate skewers of grilled veggies, on a beach, with good friends.

We drank tea out of a different teapot. Yum!

That pretty much sums up the last month. Work, wedding, work, friends, with tons of tea mixed in!

Insects!

I got home yesterday from my (potential) last trip up to the Peace. Like last trip, the weather was gorgeous and the flowers were out in full force! This trip there were more adult insects flying around, so it was much more interesting to take photos of.

I am astounded as to how well this guy can hide. Pretty darn perfect!

A damsel in distress.. ha ha haa..

One of the bigger dragonflies hangin' around

What a gorgeous colour!

I had intended on posting some photos of flowers, but apparently none were interesting enough to bother..

van Dusen

A while ago we headed over to van Dusen gardens for a walk. We actually walked there from here which was pretty nice. It's about 30 blocks from here.

Parallel lines + leaves.. what more can I say?

These (Allium, I believe) are gorgeous. They're so cool looking, and I really enjoyed taking photos of them.

Lupines are one of my favourite flowers. I don't think I'd ever seen them until we went to Nova Scotia on a family trip a long time ago. They were one of my Nana's favourite flowers, and I think I love them as much as I do because they remind me of her.

 A beautiful heather.

Allium and black lotus. Both so pretty..!

I love the long yellow flower stalks of the black lotus. It's gorgeous, and really brightens the place up.
